Dawson's Creek.
Oh, Dawson's. There are re-runs airing on Nog'n and there's a hypnotic quality to them. I think this has to do with Dawson's premiering when I was a junior in college and therefore vulnerable to the hook of Dawson's, yet ashamed of it. Vulnerability and shame are so very powerful.
Anyway, tonight was a "Joey" heavy episode and while I don't want to enter into the discourse of the Insanity of Tom Cruise, I will just remark that she looked so beautiful and smart and animated and unique (for some reason, on this episode, a very special one in which Joey goes out with Jack, upsetting Dawson and then I stopped watching after that. Not that hypnotic. Anyway, on this episode Joey looked vaguely Mediterranean, and her hair was doing that poofy thing where you know she's restraining natural curl. I feel a kinship with her). That she wasn't a teen drama bimbolina and utterly forgettable, but that we would hear more from her.
And we did.
Oh, Joey Potter, we mourn thee.
